VCURD was established by the Virginia General Assembly in 1992 as the Virginia Center for Urban and Regional Development. Today it serves multiple stakeholders at all geographic levels, providing development analysis, policy and program evaluation, decision support systems, and strategic planning services to State agencies, regional and metropolitan organizations, planning districts, cities, counties and towns, as well as businesses and non-profit organizations.

Whether you want to analyze the economic impact of a policy decision, evaluate the size and composition of particular industries, establish a vision for growth and development of your locality, or gauge public perceptions on important issues, we invite you call on us to help guide the way.

Helping organizations identify the right research questions -- and providing the tools and insight to answer them -- is our area of expertise.  The research team at the Virginia Center for Urban and Regional Development specializes in economic analysis, urban development and growth management, fiscal and economic impact studies, public opinion and marketing surveys, and statistical analysis of data.
